Christianity and Coping with stress.
As we all know stress is a part of life. Whether it comes from being stuck in traffic or stress on the job. We all feel stressed from time to time. Some stress can be a good thing if it is turned into motivation to get tasks done to eliminate the stress.
Faith in God through a relationship with Jesus Christ helps in dealing with mental stress. 2 Timothy 1:7 states, For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. Another scripture states: Surely he Jesus took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows yet we considered him stricken by God,smitten by him, and afflicted. But he (Jesus) was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed (Isaiah 53:4-5) God wants us to be mentally sound and have peace of mind.
Some coping skills for dealing with stress includes prayer, listening to praise and worship music. reading the Bible and exercising 30 minutes per day.
Becoming A Christian
The Bible provides instruction to life's most common and challenging situations. If you are not a Christian and would like to become a Christian, here is what to do. That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:9-10.
First, you can pray this prayer:
Father God please forgive me of all my sins. I confess that Jesus is Lord and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. I forgive others and ask you to help me to forgive those who have wronged me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Secondly search for a Bible believing church that you can visit on a regular basis.
